Pour atténuer certains maux, soulager des douleurs, tant physiques que mentales, apaiser certains désagréments, etc. il est de plus en plus fréquent d’avoir recours à des plantes. L’ashwagandha est utilisée en médecine ayurvédique, notamment en Inde, depuis des milliers d’années. Quels sont ses bienfaits, quand et pourquoi est-il intéressant de prendre de l’ashwagandha et comment la consommer ?
Originaire d’Asie du sud, et plus particulièrement d’Inde, l’ashwagandha est un petit arbuste qui possède des racines aux nombreuses vertus. Ce sont en effet ses dernières qui sont riches en actifs et ainsi fortement plébiscitées en médecine ayurvédique. Pour être utilisées, les racines d’ashwagandha sont séchées et réduites en poudre. De son surnom “ginseng indien” ou de son nom scientifique “Withania somnifera”, l’ashwagandha présente un grand nombre d’effets bienfaisants sur la santé. Une de ses particularités est d’être adaptogène. Cela signifie qu’il réagit selon les besoins de l‘organisme. Bien que ses propriétés ne changent pas, ses apports varient ainsi suivant les personnes.
Dans la médecine traditionnelle indienne, l’ashwagandha est utilisé pour agir autant sur le physique que sur le mental. En effet, c’est une plante qui présente notamment des propriétés immuno stimulantes, toniques, anti-inflammatoires et aphrodisiaques.
Comme évoqué dans le premier paragraphe, c’est également une plante adaptogène. Les bienfaits de l’ashwagandha sont ainsi propres aux besoins de l’organisme qui en consomme. Cela peut être par exemple :
Selon si vous souhaitez bénéficier des bienfaits de l'ashwagandha pour la beauté de votre peau, agir sur votre stress du quotidien, soulager vos douleurs articulaires, etc. différentes consommations sont envisageables. Lorsque les racines de la plante sont réduites à l’état de poudre, il est ainsi possible de se faire une tisane, une décoction ou de prendre l’ashwagandha sous forme de compléments alimentaires bio. Il est également envisageable de s’en faire une teinture pour la consommer en gouttes ou d’utiliser la poudre directement dans des préparations culinaires.
